#1: Why I Read

I love reading for a lot of reasons. For one, it’s like seeing a movie in your head, but not having to look at a screen for 2 hours. I also like books a lot more than movies because usually, the plot in a book is more complex than the plot in a movie. At least it seems that way. I also like reading because it takes you away from reality. Stepping into someone else’s shoes is a really fun and exciting experience. You get to see from their point of view for a while instead of your own. This can be a very educational experience because you can learn how other people sometimes think.  It’s also nice just not to worry about any of the world’s problems for however long you read for. The last reason I thoroughly enjoy reading is because overall, it teaches a lot of valuable morals and skills. It increases skills because it introduces you to new and bigger words. An excellent vocabulary is always good to have. It teaches you morals because a lot of the time, the protagonist or even the antagonist learns an important lesson from one another. I think everyone takes something away from a book, even if they don’t dare to admit it. This is why I highly recommend that everyone reads books very frequently.

  1. I agree that everyone takes something from a book; even if it's learning what you don't want to become. I like your point about the complexity of books--I think the fact that moves cram themselves into two hours limits their depth in a way that books don't have to contend with since they have no time barriers.
